Biography: Prof. Moustafa Baraka, graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, Civil Engineering. He received his Ph.D.  from Geodetic Science and Surveying Department, Ohio State University, USA. Professor Emeritus, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University.  Professor of Surveying and Geodesy, Civil Engineering Program, German University in Cairo University, (2013 – present). Acting Dean of Fac of Eng & Materials Science (EMS) German University in Cairo (2021 – 2024). Director of Civil Engineering Program, German University in Cairo University, (2013 – 2024). Director of the Surveying & Land Information Systems Lab, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University (2010-2013). Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, (2007 – 2010). Academic Advisor, National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences (2002-2003).
 
Member of Egyptian Committee Building Information Modeling Standards (2020- current). Member of International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) Commission 8 (2016 – current). Member of Egyptian Committee Surveying and Mapping. (2015 – current). Member of the Egyptian Geographic Society. (2002- current). Member of the Arab Institute for Navigation. (2002 – current). Member of the Egyptian Society for Geophysical Sciences. (1999 – current).
Published over 80 papers in international conferences and scientific journals. Supervised 10 Ph.D. dissertations and 25 M.Sc. theses.
